Please discuss your personal teaching philosophy: "I have always maintained the philosophy that it is not our job as teachers to impart or impose our knowledge upon others, but to encourage our students to build their own knowledge and skills. My main role as an educator is to motivate, inspire, and encourage the learner and be a role model for enjoying the learning process! 21st Century skills continue to change and evolve, and we are all learners. The definition of teaching is that someone learned."

 * Favorite food(s): Spare ribs and sauerkraut

My life is a Beatles song. Here is a YouTube clip of
my favorite Beatles song "In My Life".

They must have written this song about my life and its how I feel about my little boy Mike. YouTube clip:

 * Place in the world you'd most like to visit:
  • Paul McCartney's house,

but I would settle for a concert of his.

I always thought I'd travel with my Down Syndrome brother, Gary, Image:Garysanta.jpg later in life, but found that we must live life today, we may not be around far down the line.

To provide opportunities for our kids, expand our afterschool programs so that students can have choices! They are so restricted during the school day because of all the credits that they have to have. This allows them to do something that they want to do. I would like to see them get a credit for this class. Can we borrow and perhaps help with a syllabus?

  • My Dream Game: IDENTIFY! I have invented a game that could only have many educational purposes. In music or pop culture, click to hear a bit of a song,

to identify it would give you a point. To identify the artist would give you two points. This game could also apply to famous portraits, famous places, microscopic pictures, trees, birds, terminology in a course, etc. I am not sure how to download bits of songs???

Mike 08:49, 29 September 2007 (EDT) To edit bits from songs, try Audacity. link Audacity on Source Forge. It's an easy to use (and free resource) :-) Many excellent tutorials are available by doing a Google search. Hello, best of luck to you and the future project. Its nice to work with you, We will keep in touch.

10/3/2007 We are making flyers to promote the course to students and have arranged our meeting with Nancy to be on 10/12/2007 at 1:00. Jared will be doing tutorials for staff development.

11/13/2007 Suggestion from Cindy Willis in Clay County:

Go to http://www.ruckusnation.com [1] to find details on a contest for kids to create an educational computer game. Your ideas are due before November 20, 2007, so look at it quick. There are opportunities to win money! The game must encourage physical activity! There are $75,000 in prizes. Can someone make this link look better? The site is www.ruckusnation.com
