Globaloria WV Educators Newsletter - 04
Friday, 17th October 2008
Dear Educators,

Well, it was another jam-packed, whirlwind week in Globaloria land! All of you did excellent work in submitting and sharing your first round Learning and Teaching Progress Reports. We continue to be impressed with your students' work on their wikis and blogs too. Idit and Shannon were in WV, and had a opportunity to visit some schools, along with the WV team and our friends from CPD.

This week's newsletter brings you updates on those items sessions, as well as some thought provoking ideas from Vicky's blog and the Capital High School wiki. Enjoy!

The Latest News and Important Dates
Progress Report 1: Job Well Done!

Thank you all for submitting and sharing your first round of thoughtful and insightful Progress Reports. It was great to hear you discuss and share ideas you gained from one another in our recent mini workshops. We have begun distributing checks, so look for yours in the mail. A few of you still have report revisions to submit, so please do those ASAP. We will send your checks out the minute we get your revisions.

World Wide Workshop Team Road Trip Idit, Shannon, Lee and Maitreyi, along with Dixie and Leah from CPD, had a chance to visit Ceredo Kenova Middle, Spring Valley High, MCTC and Capital High this week. We were very impressed with the students and the excitement level in these classrooms. We hope to visit everyone over the course of the school year. Check out some photos from our visits on Flickr:

Featured Blog - Vicki's Globaloria Thoughts
"Am I asking enough out of the students? Do I need to set more rigid guidelines? I don't want to be to rigid because then I am doing the thinking for them - I want them to increase their creative problem solving skills, to use more higher order thinking skills and to learn to work as a team"
