PLAYING TO LEARN assignments
Pick two games you played before and write a review about each of them. Choose one professional and one student made game.
Review 1:
Make sure you include the following points in your reviews:
- Darfur is Dying is a game about a villiage trying to survive.
- From a learner's point of view it is a fun game about what some people go through everyday of there life. I think the creator's point of view is to show everybody in the United States ho lucky they are to have freedom.
- The graphics are alright but the game is really good. The graphics could be better but they are really good for a Flash game.
- It is clear to me that the point in the game is to forge water from a well. You have to get by the guards to get to the well.
- There is only two suggestions for inprovement in my opinion. One is that you should be able to run in the villiage, and two is to work on the graphics.
- I would like to learn how to make a spot where you can press a button and go to a different place or do something. I would also like to learn how to make a Flash game with good graphics and other people in it.
Review 2:
- Stop Disasters is a game of strategy and how well you react to the situation.
- From a learner's point of view this is just a fun and educational game that you learn what some towns do incase of a earthquake, hurricane, etc. I think from a creator's point of view he/she was trying to make a game that prepared poeple and citizens for a disaster like the ones in the game.
- It didn't have that good of graphics but how many levels and things of that sort made up for it.
- The game does really well. There are no glitches in the game that I have found and I have played the game a lot. The thing you are supposed to do is build things to pretect the city. You have a budget though, so that means you can't waste your money on worthless things. That means fixing up buildings and putting things to help to actually help the town is the best choice.
- The only thing that I think that this game needs is more disasters and more money.
- I would like to know how to put a thing in a game to make it be able to build things anywhere you want them. I would also want to know how to make different things in one game, like different levels that you can choose.
