[The Racing Pursuit]

Media:Power_point_game_Billy.ppt
My game idea is that your character will start out in his or her choice of vechicle they will be drivng on the road. When they come to a red light an educational civics question will pop up for them to answer. You can get bonus points by going through the carwash or avoiding other cars. If you get the question right, then you get points and wait for the light to turn green. If you get it wrong then it causes you to run the redlight and then the police will arrest you. You get to start over if you don't run from the police. You can get bonus points by avoiding other cars and running through the carwash.

RESEARCH

For our research we had one website to help us a lot on getting started http://www.leeclerk.org/Court_Civil.asp?VisText=CivilText#. It gives you every single detail about civics law and other different kinds of laws.On our game for our car we found a common car that a crimnal would have. We also found this website useful because in our game, we have educational civics questions that the player has to answer. So we did research that would improve our questions to make the game more interesting. This website here tells a lot about the federal cases http://www.uscourts.gov/understand03/content_6_1.html.

GAME DEMO, FINAL GAME

[When completed, embed the .SWF and .FLA files for your Game Demo, and your Final Game here.]

GAME PITCH

  • Learning Topic (What subject and specific leanring concept does your game cover?)Civil Law
  • Audience (Who are you designing your game for, and why? Be specific.)We're designing our game for young children because we think that kids should learn this stuff at an early age.
  • Game Play (What does the player see and do? What are the rules and how do you win? What is the goal of the game?)The players will see a car with obstacial course that you have to drive through without hitting the cones and barrels then they will get to the courthouse and solve a case. The rules to our game are you must answer the question correctly or the cops make you start over. To win you have to go through 3 levels with out getting a question wrong and you have to win the final case. The goal of our game is to teach students that you can have fun and learn at the same time because that is why most kids don't like to stay in school because sometimes it gets really boring.
  • Fun Factor (What makes your game fun for the player?)It's fun because when you race a car down the street, it will get the player so excited that they won't quite playing the game ,and where you dodge the barrels and cones, it gives you an adrenaline rush.
  • Smart Factor (What does your game teach? What can someone learn by playing it?)Our game teaches you the civil law and what it is like when you get sued. Our game can teach you how to handle a case when you are in this situation.
  • Style Factor (What kind of graphic/animation style will you use? What kind of sounds?)We will have a lot of style in our game,it will have unique and original graphics. The sounds will probably be copied because they'll just be basic. Like the sound of a car starting,or an engine roaring.
  • Originality Factor (What makes your game special and unique? Why will it sell?)It will sell because it will have obstacles that no one has thought about or put in their game.
  • Team Introduction (Names and roles of team members)We share our roles equally,Billy is the designer and sound person, and I am the one who makes the game educational. I put the civics questions in the game by doing rersearch.

Then the police on traffic duty will escort you back to the starting position. But if you succeed then the stoplight will turn red and an educational civivs question will pop up on your screen. If you get it right, you'll advance to the next level,if you get it wrong, then the police will once more escort you back to your starting point of the game.

If you do not have enough points, then the police will come arrest you and the game will be over. If you hit an obstacle then you'll lose 2 points. If you make it through, you'll gain 3 points.Once you reached the stoplight,it'll turn red and an educational question about our topic,"Civil Law' will pop up on your screen. If you get it right, thats's 5 points,if you get it wrong,it's 2 points taken away.
