White House Runners

CIVICS GAME CONCEPT

  • The function concept that is the hardest to teach in our game is about the responsibilities of Secretary of War. We think it is diffulcult to teach about it because the position is the civilian head of the U.S. War Department which is responsible to the President for the organization, maintenance, equipment, and operations of the U.S. Army. Our game teaches this concept to upper elementary and lower middle school because the children probably don't know this concept. We think that the kids need to learn this concept so if they go to college and they want to be teachers, then they will know about the responsibilites of Secretary of War. So when our game is done, we hope that you will love our game and that you will learn something about the Secretary of War!!!!

Source: Affairs, B. o. (2000). U.S Department of State. Retrieved May 24, 2010, from state gov: http://www.state.gov/m/dghr/hr/ I used this site to help me with the facts scene.

NARROWING THE TOPIC

  • The Topic of Your Game: The topic of our game is the Serectary of State and war!
  • Specific amendment/freedom/right/aspect of the journey/Cabinet member responsibilities you BOTH have decided to narrow your game to: We are narrowing our topic down to Serectary of State and war!!
  • The title of the game you BOTH agreed upon. Explain how it reflects your topic: White House Runners because your are running around the White House!
  • Your storyline: You are delivering a letter to the correct person it says to (Serectary of State or Serectary of War). The role is to play a person who works in the White House and he/she gets to learn all the resonsibilities of Serectary of State or Serectary of War.
