PLAYING TO LEARN assignments

Game Review 1

  • Name and purpose of the game: Teenage Pregnancy is the name of the game. The purpose of the game is to encourage teenagers to wait to have kids until they are older. The makers of the game give the players good reasons why teenage pregnancy is a high risk. They also give ways where you can’t have a kid or you can use birth control or use condoms or not have sex at all
  • Describe it from a learner's point of view and a developer’s point of view: You learn how to make decisions about teenage pregnancy. The developer probably wants young kids to wait to have kids or make the right decisions if they are sexually active.
  • Design Analysis: The game looks good: I like the colors and the way it moves. After you answer the questions correctly, I like the facts after the questions.
  • Usability Analysis: You get a card by clicking on it and there are questions on the card. Then, after you answer the question they will give you more facts. Finally they move the doll for you how ever many spaces it says. It is easy to make the decisions. If you get the wrong answer you stay there and do not move forward.
  • Suggestions for improvement: I cannot think of any other suggestions for improvement because the game accomplishes it purpose.
  • 2-3 things that you would like to learn how to do: I would like to learn how to create cards that when you click on it will reveal a question. I would also like to learn how to make the board move.

Game Review 2

  • Name and purpose of the game: The name of the game is Shopping Spree .The purpose of the game is you go shopping for things for prom. If you go over the money you have you lose the game. If you have money left you win the game

  • Describe it from a learner's point of view and a developer’s point of view: I learned to manage money. The developer wanted you to learn how to manage money. They wanted you to think how to spend your money

  • Design Analysis: The game is very unique .The colors are very pretty .The items in the game are really pretty. The game is only for a girl not a guy.
  • Usability Analysis: It I really easy. All you have to is click on the item you want .To get to the next picture you click on the star in the corner to get to the next part of the game.
  • Suggestions for improvement: That they could make a guys version. That they could have a guy going to the prom and that he has to manage for himself.
  • 2-3 things that you would like to learn how to do: I would like to learn how to create the flashing stars at the beginning and the end of the game.
