Create interactive buttons

  • Make the buttons from the Graphics project respondent to rollovers
Minimum Requirements
  • Each button should have a normal state, rollover state, click state, hotspot and be labeled.

  • Excellence in design or animation.

Wiki Update

  • Upload the assets (.SWF and .FLA) you create to your Wiki project page.
  • Write comments on others’ designs on their project Wiki page.

Final Project Assignment

  • Write a one or two page proposal for your final project and link to it from your wiki page.
  • See Final Project for a suggestion or you can propose your own.
  • Describe your objectives, themes and techniques you want to explore.
  • Present step by step details on interactions the user will experience.
  • Link to related examples on the web.
  • Create a list of assets you will need to create such as graphics, animations and sounds.
  • Also list tasks you will need to accomplish, including ActionScripting.
  • Estimate time to create and incorporate each asset into your project as well as time to complete each task.

Creating your first interactive button in Flash

1. Read the Overview of Flash Symbols.

2. Watch the "how to make an interactive button in Flash" tutorial.

3. Open the game interface you created for The Interface and Add buttons/tokens respondent to mouse rollovers.

  • Each button should have a normal state, rollover state, click state, hotspot (hit state) and text labels for each of the buttons.
